Dineke Nauta (1992) is a Dutch saxophonist based in Amsterdam. She started playing the saxophone at the age of nine and was a student in the “Young Talent” program at the Prins Claus Conservatory in Groningen. She continued studying with Arno Bornkamp at the Conservatory of Amsterdam. In 2015 she completed her Bachelor studies successfully and in 2017 she received her Master’s degree in both saxophone and chamber music. She has been a passionate member of several ensembles since the beginning of her studies and has attended numerous master classes with renowned musicians.
From 2017 until 2019 Dineke received financial support from “Kralings Muziekfonds Stringendo”. In 2018 she received a grant from Stichting Eigen Muziekinstrument.
The Passing of Time
In collaboration with Windows of Opportunity, Dineke developed a corona-proof solo performance for alto sax, tenor sax and audio.
Part of the program is the new piece Workin', which composer Frans Vermeerssen composed for her, as well as Graham Fitkin's Passing and Dineke's improvisations in which she reflects on the passing of time.

Ebonit Saxophone Quartet
As a founding member of the Ebonit Saxophone Quartet, Dineke performed in Europe's major halls including the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, De Singel in Antwerp, Musikverein in Vienna, Mozarteum in Salzburg, Konzerthaus in Berlin and Liszt Academy Solti Hall in Budapest, as well as in festivals including “New Music North West” in Manchester (England), the “Emilia Romagna Festival” in Bologna (Italy), the “Verbier Festival” (Switzerland) and the “Heidelberger Frühling” (Germany). The quartet recorded three albums of which their debut album got nominated for the prominent Dutch prize "Edison Klassiek".

Nederlands Saxofoon Octet
Het Nederlands Saxofoon Octet (Dutch Saxophone Octet, in short NS8) was founded in 2014 in Amsterdam by a group of recently graduated saxophonists. With a sopranino and a bass-saxophone and all sorts of saxophones in between, the ensemble has a wide range that allows interesting adaptations varying from chamber music to symphonies.
NS8 recorded Canto Ostinato by Simeon ten Holt on its debut album which was released in November 2019 on Cobra Records. Pizzicato Journal about NS8’s CD Canto Ostinato: ‘The present instrumentation offers the wonderful opportunity to experience the saxophone in its most beautiful timbres.’
